Picture this: My husband Larry and I sitting alone in a library meeting room, wondering if anyone would show up to our first real estate meetup. (Spoiler alert: Nobody did. We ended up grabbing tacos instead.)

But here’s where it gets good…

That awkward first meeting? It turned into something pretty amazing. By meeting #2, we had six brave souls show up (two of them are now good friends and we’ve done multiple deals together).

Before we knew it, we were packing rooms with 60+ people and attracting some pretty big names in real estate. Want to hear something crazy?

We even got Brandon Turner from BiggerPockets to speak!  And let me tell you, this story still makes me smile… 

Brandon had agreed to speak at our event months in advance. Then, a few weeks before the big day, we found out he had accidentally double-booked – he was supposed to fly to Ireland the next morning!

Now, most speakers would’ve bailed. But Brandon…This guy completely reworked his schedule, came to speak to our packed room (65 people – the librarians were giving us the side-eye about the noise), and then zoomed straight to the airport. We even managed to squeeze in dinner with him and Heather beforehand!

That’s the kind of magic that happens when you build a real community. And now we’re creating something even better here in the Inland Northwest.

Let me tell you about Nghi. When we first met him, he was stuck with properties that just weren’t selling in the traditional market. He had the drive and the skills for fix-and-flips, but something wasn’t clicking. Through our community, he learned about creative exit strategies, particularly lease options. Not only did he successfully exit those properties, but he discovered something even better: better tax benefits, higher quality tenants, and way fewer maintenance headaches. Fast forward a few years: she’s gone from working as an on-site property manager to founding her own property management firm, investment company, AND real estate brokerage.

When she introduced us to her mom, she proudly declared, “these guys taught me everything I know about real estate.”  While we felt this was generous praise, we were incredibly proud of her success and growth from that first uncertain deal to becoming a multi-company founder in real estate.
